Clever Bedroom Storage Ideas

As far as we know, everyone can always use a dose of clever bedroom storage! Whether you have a tiny space to work with, an abundance of belongings, or you simply want to get what you own sorted, we have an idea for you.

Read on for our list of clever bedroom storage ideas.

Build a storage unit around your bed

If you are fortunate to have a large bedroom, consider building a storage unit around your bed. The unit can contain shelves for books and personal treasures, drawers for items best kept hidden, and even additional bedroom storage.

Use a chest or bedroom stool to store shoes

Bedroom stools are a fantastic way to store shoes. If you have a bedroom stool at the end of your bed, or a chest lying around unused, now is the time to get to work. Your bedroom storage can be multiplied by sorting and making use of items you already own.

Under bed baskets give bedrooms a beautiful feel

It can be tempting to head straight for plastic under bed storage items. There is nothing wrong with this. But if the budget allows, consider baskets for under bed storage. They give a beautiful and rustic feel to the bedroom and can be a feature all by themselves. Plus lots of extra storage!

Turn a bar cart into a moveable storage solution

Bar carts are a fantastic way to keep similar items together and sorted. You can pick up bar carts from most home wear and furniture stores such as IKEA. These are great for kids art and craft supplies, teenage girls make up and hair products, and video game items to name a few.

You can also paint them in a multitude of colours to suit the décor and style of the bedroom.

Create storage beneath window seats

If you’re lucky enough to have a window seat in your bedroom (we adore these for reading) consider converting the space beneath the seat into hidden storage. Think of the possibilities!

Use dishracks to organise clutches within the wardrobe

Trust us on this one! A small size dish rack is the perfect solution for piles of clutches or purses. Simply place one between each rung of the rack and before you know it, you’ve got fantastic, affordable, and maintainable bedroom storage.
